Many people have a perception of hypnosis based on T.V. or theatre shows. This representation of hypnosis is misleading. You do not give up control, you do not become a zombie and you don't bark like a dog every time the doorbell rings!
There is no magic formula that fits everyone. No two people are the same so the sessions are always tailored to meet the needs of the individual client, their sport and their goals. The aim of the therapy is to build a mindset for competition that helps the individual believe they are going to be at their best.
About Aidan Nearly 15 years working as a clinical hypnotherapist has given me an unshakeable belief in the power of the mind, if used properly. I am passionate about what I do and the results I see in my clients. I always remind my clients that while hypnosis is important it is simply a tool used to access the emotional state. After that it is the quality of the therapy that gets the results. When the mindset changes the performances follow.
Although well behind me now, during my competitive days as a junior athlete I had multiple all Ireland wins at long jump and triple jump. I also had the honour of representing my country. My senior career was cut short by a serious rugby injury. Many would say I should be in a wheelchair. As a result, during my 20’s I found it very difficult to stand on the sidelines watching when I should have been out there competing. Having missed out on my chance to fulfil my sporting dreams I am passionate about helping others achieve theirs.
